She told the Lennox Herald: “Lynsey lost her personal race for life at home on Saturday, April 5 after a very brief, but also very harrowing battle with cancer. Her mum, Elaine Rainey, this week spoke about how she and her family take comfort in the dignified way her daughter battled the disease which she was diagnosed with in November 2012. The 31-year-old sadly lost her battle with cancer earlier this month just under a year since she took part in the Race For Life to raise money for research into the condition. The family of devoted mum Lynsey Courtney have told how she was a truly amazing woman with a wicked sense of humour.
